Though I understand the importance of knowing how much something is going to cost, before I can give you an accurate quote to have your script proofread or edited, you need to decide what level of editing you would like done. Please read the brief definitions of each type of editing listed below and then contact me for an individualized estimate. Most of my rates are flat fees and are negotiable.

Single read of play, looking for typographical and punctuation errors, misspelled words, incorrect usage and sentence spacing errors.
|
|
Single read of your play script followed by a written narrative on its strengths and weaknesses. Since this is an evaluation only, it does not include the services outlined in the proofreading category.

This is a line-by-line edit. Along with proofreading your play script, I will also review the prop list to determine that all props from the script are listed, review the costume list to determine that all characters are costumed, double-check your stage directions, and make sure that all stage production cues, if any, are marked correctly in the script.

This is a line-by-line edit. Along with proofreading your manuscript, I will also flag any inconsistencies in point of view, tense, even the characters themselves (i.e. on one page the man has a beard and on the next page he's clean-shaven without any reference being made to him shaving the beard off).
